Two career highs on one Saturday night. Two Big Ten awards on Monday.

Nebraska volleyball’s Teraya Sigler was named Big Ten Player of the Week and Olivia Mauch was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after the Huskers went 2 and 0, sweeping Northwestern on the road and beating No. 13 Purdue 3 to 1 at John Cook Arena.

Teraya Sigler found another gear

The sophomore outside hitter averaged 3.29 kills per set on .391 hitting with 2.57 digs per set across the two matches.

Saturday against Purdue she put down a career high 15 kills, hitting .355 on 31 swings with six digs and a block. When the Boilermakers pushed back, she was the answer.

Thursday at Northwestern she did a little of everything: eight kills on .467 hitting, 12 digs, three blocks and two aces in the sweep.

Olivia Mauch kept everything alive

Nebraska held Northwestern and Purdue to a combined .091 hitting for the week, and the junior libero from Bennington was at the center of it.

Against Purdue she dug a career high 21 balls as the Huskers held the Boilermakers to .133 hitting. She added eight assists and an ace, making her the first Husker libero since Lexi Rodriguez in 2023 with at least 20 digs and eight assists in a match.

She picked up seven more digs in the road sweep at Northwestern.
